The Saudi Arabian Rugby National Team has achieved a historic milestone<\/strong> by reaching the semi-finals<\/strong> of the 2025 Asia Rugby Sevens Cup<\/strong>, marking the greatest accomplishment in the team\u2019s history and a new chapter in Saudi sports development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tournament, hosted in the Sultanate of Oman<\/strong>, featured top Asian national teams including: Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, India, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Jordan, Iran, Qatar, Lebanon, Iraq, Oman, Kyrgyzstan, and Palestine. The Saudi team delivered outstanding performances throughout the competition, advancing to the semi-final stage for the first time ever<\/strong> at the continental level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team was led by Head Coach Sami Smara<\/strong> and Assistant Coach Mohammed Obaid<\/strong>, whose strategic guidance and leadership played a crucial role in the team\u2019s success. Their focus on discipline, teamwork, and determination was clearly reflected in the players\u2019 performance on the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is worth noting that the Asia Rugby Sevens competitions are divided into two levels: the Asia Rugby Sevens Series<\/strong>, featuring top-tier teams such as Japan, China, and the UAE competing for global and Olympic qualification, and the Asia Rugby Sevens Trophy<\/strong>, which includes the remaining Asian nations. This year marked the first time the Saudi national team reached the semi-final stage in any continental tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President of the Saudi Arabian Rugby Federation, Mr. Ali bin Misbah Al-Dajani<\/strong>, expressed his immense pride in this historic achievement, stating:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
